Are you more of an adventurous soul or looking for more than your typical guided fishing trip? Then a motorboat trip into the wilderness is the trip for you. There are 9 desginated lakes or portions of lakes within the BWCA that have motorboat access, including the famed Basswood Lake. These lakes do require a day-use motor permit. These permits are reserved quickly so an early reservation is a must!
The Boundary Waters motorboat lakes aren't the only place where adventure can be had. We have many remote backwoods lakes. Some of these lakes don't have much fisheries information and you may oftentimes be the only ones fishing there. The excitement comes from not knowing what lurks beneath the surface!
